  • Cashew Nut Shell Liquid - CNSL  

    What is CNSL?
    Cashewnut Shell Liquid (CNSL or Cashew Nut Oil or Cashew Shell Oil or CNSL Oil)is a by-product of the cashew industry. The nut has a shell of about 0.1 inch thickness inside which is a soft honeycomb structure containing a dark reddish brown viscous liquid. It is called the cashewnut shell liquid, which is the pericarp fluid of the cashewnut.

    Process of production
    Cashew shell is leaded through compressor to conduct oil, after that, oil is continuously brought to centrifugal machine to eliminate extraneous matters. Next step is precipitate process. After all, oil is leaded through heat processing to get finished product.

    The CNSL process sequence in basic steps : Wetting of the cashew nuts by dipping in a hot water vat at 20-25°C to strike a moisture balance between the shell and kernel of the cashew nut and removal of superficial moisture from the nuts and then steaming of the nuts to open up the pores of the shells, Subjecting the conditioned nuts dipping in a vat containing cashew nut shell oil where temperature is kept at 170°C to 185°C or preferably at 180°C, for a predetermined period when most of the oil issues out of the shells, Vibrating the nuts discharged from the oil bath and subsequent centrifugation in order to remove the adhered oil, Incision of the shell walls of the nuts and centrifugation of the seed against a breaking wall, Separation of the kernel from the cracked cashew shells and peeling of the skin by heating with hot air and mechanical rubbing of the kernel and effecting the removal of the peel under the action of an air stream; and Classifying the peeled nuts and subsequent packing under inert gas in tightly closed containers

    CNSL used for manufacturing of CNSL Resin, Cardanol or Card Phenol or Cashew Phenol, Cashew Friction Dust, Anti corrosive hiring (lining) chemicals, Paints, Varnishes, Enamels, Insecticides and Fungicides, Cashew Laquers, Bakelite, Electrical conductress, Cashew Cements, Core Oil, Red Oxide, Wood, Fuel, Speciality Chemicals, Foundry Chemicals and many other Industries.

    Right after being established, Hung Loc has invested 1 billion VND for constructing and setting up the manufactory. Currently, we produce 200,000 liters of cashew oil per day to supply the need of import and export. Nowaday, Hung Loc is one of biggest suppliers who produce cashew-oil in Vietnam.

    As one of the pioneering companies in the cashew oil production in Dong Nai, we are proud of being the company which provides full information, photos, benefit from the practical use of the first things as fuels replaced.

    Our product has passed the quality test at Quatest 3. Quantity of sample : 2 liters, date of testing : 08 Sep. 2008. Quality Test Results: Ash content (by mass) 0.92, Sediment by extraction (by mass) : 0.37, Kinematics viscosity at 40oC - mm2/s : 67.54, relative density at 15oC/15oC : 0.9624, Gross heat value MJ/kg kcal/kg : 39.849515 .
